Required Skills and Experience:
· 6 – 7 years in data modeling experience - at the logical and physical level, with a strong focus on dimensional modeling/OLAP
· Understanding of normalization of entities and tables; ensure use of proper constraints, naming standards, data types & lengths.
· Transform logical data model to physical data model.
· Generate DDL from physical data model for database implementation.
· Document data mapping - source to target.
· Work closely with business analyst(s) and IT resources to decipher business requirements and translate them to a logical data model.
· Good communication skills - able to explain and walk through design concepts to various resources (business, application development, management)
· Retail experience
Required Technologies: OLAP RDBMS (Teradata, Netezza), Data warehouse schemas (Star, Snowflake), dimensional data modeling, SQL Tools (AQT, SQL Navigator), Data modeling tools (Erwin 9.5 and Model Mart), Proficient with writing SQL
Optional Technologies: OLTP RDBMS
Deliverables and other requirements:
· Deliver analysis, design, build, and refactoring of conceptual, logical and physical data models as requested by QVC Data architect and/or project team according to project plan
· Communicate with project team members to deliver data models to meet data requirements as requested by QVC Data architect and/or project team
· Create all documentation and deliverables in accordance with QVC guidelines and standards
· Review all relevant documentation to ensure compliance with QVC standards
· Attend team meetings as requested by QVC
· On site in West Chester - Mon-Fri
· Provide weekly status report of progress and hours worked
· Record time in QVC time reporting system (EPM)
