Description : Role and Responsibilities

This role will throw the applicant deep into the heart of the technical innovation and deployment that make our, industry recognized and awarded, events so great. We’re looking for a network engineer with a strong capability to pick up new technologies as they’re presented. Also, you must be capable of working in a team to tight deadlines; working long hours and travelling; in what is possibly the most exciting technical role in the company. You will bring to life an enterprise class network in a matter of weeks using Cisco solutions both well established and on the cusp of release. Expect hands on technical configuration, lab and event-based deployment, testing, design, troubleshooting and logistical planning to be core aspects of this role. 

The key to this role is, not knowing everything but being able to work as a team to get the work done and done in a timely manner.

The position will bring you into contact with both Cisco’s internal business units, the innovators of our amazing solutions, our marketing teams and external event-based companies that bring our shows to life.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
•       A bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Computer Science or related field preferred
•       Cisco certifications CCNP and or CCDP are required
Required Skills
•       5 years + hands on experience in network troubleshooting, design and deployment
•       A strong knowledge of routing and switching with OSPF and BGP in operational networks
•       Comfortable with Linux and Windows Server operating systems
•       Knowledge of Virtualization technologies such as VMware vSphere and Hyper-V
•       Ability to work in a highly collaborative team environment

Highly Desirable Skills
•       Ability to multitask and balance workload independently
•       Clear communication and documentation skills
•       A strong knowledge of routing and switching with OSPF and BGP in operational networks
•       A strong knowledge of Layer two switching technologies such as STP, RTSP and L2 security protocols
•       A good understanding of wireless technologies, 802.11ac and ax, wireless LAN controllers and access point deployment
•       Knowledge of Zero Touch Deployment protocols such as Network Plug and Play
•       Automation scripting with Python is highly desirable
•       Some experience with Ansible or other DevOps tools
•       A good understanding of Embedded Event Manager (EEM)
•       Able to clearly present technical deployment solutions in front of our customers and partners
•       Experience with Network Management platforms such as Cisco Prime, Cisco DNA Center or third party and open-source solutions is preferred
•       Some experience with Netflow/IPFix is desirable
•       Good knowledge of access list creation and deployment
•       Experience with Cisco Firepower or ASA configuration would be a plus
•       Experience with Cisco’s Software Defined Access (SDA) solution would be a big plus
