It develops, produces, and markets engines and equipment for air and space, defense electronics, and security solutions.
Description:
Job Summary:
Support the embedded software development for the company’s line, including specification, design, testing, documentation, tool qualification, and assisting other software engineers with their design responsibilities.
Duties:
- Assist in designing, developing, debugging and unit testing source code for embedded controllers while applying best practice software methodologies.
- Design and troubleshoot micro controller and support circuitry
- Develop clear and concise well-structured and documented source code applicable for software re-use across multiple controllers
- Maintain released code
- Assist Production in resolving design-related issues.
- Research solutions and prepare documentation as required
- Develop documentation, flowcharts, and diagrams to support problem analysis
- Work with other engineers and departments to research potential useful or alternate algorithms
- Participate in requirements, design, and source code reviews
- Support Customer Service and Repair by training and by providing troubleshooting assistance
- Identify and implement opportunities for software process and development cycle time improvements
- Assist other members of the development team to debug and troubleshoot reported issues.
Education & Experience:
- BS. in Computer Science or comparable degree.
- 3-6 years
- Requires knowledge and experience in own discipline; still acquiring higher level knowledge and skills
- Builds knowledge of the organization, processes and customers
- Solves a range of straightforward problems
- Analyzes possible solutions using standard procedures
- Receives a moderate level of guidance and direction
