ROLE: SQL Server Core DBA (Database Upgrades, and Install DB service packs)
REQUIRED SKILLS: 1. Strong SQL Server core database administration skills
2. Experience working with Windows server, including Active Directory and proper disk configurations.
3. Demonstrated skills on database upgrades specifically 2014 to 2016, server/Instance/DB initial setup and configuration using industry best practices
4. Experienced with backups, restores, and recovery models
5. Excellent with OS patching activities, someone who understands the impact end-to-end, able to contribute to the run-book, and complete DB upgrade activities
6. Administer and setup high availability (failover clusters & AlwaysOn availability groups)
7. Sound knowledge of different database areas - security best practices (service accounts, proxies, groups, roles), high availability, setting up various parameters for optimal performance, and performance tuning T-SQL's post database upgrades
8. Excellent written and verbal communication.
9. Ability to multi-task and context-switch effectively between different activities and teams
10. MCSA: SQL 2016 Database Administration certification is a plus
