Job Description: Applies developed subject matter knowledge to solve common and complex business issues within established guidelines and recommends appropriate alternatives. Works on problems of diverse complexity and scope. May act as a team or project leader providing direction to team activities and facilitates information validation and team decision making process. Exercises independent judgment within generally defined policies and practices to identify and select a solution. Ability to handle most unique situations. May seek advice in order to make decisions on complex business issues. Location: Madison, WI Job Qualifications: - Typically a technical Bachelor&39;s degree or equivalent experience and a minimum of 6 years of related experience or a Master&39;s degree and a minimum of four years of experience. - 4 or more years of experience with data warehousing including work on ETL. - An understanding of RDBMS databases such Oracle and SQL in general. - Familiarity with PL/SQL and UNIX shell scripting a plus. Job Specific Skills/Special Functions: - 4 or more years of experience writing code (such as, and not limited to, C, PL/SQL, Unix Shell scripting; databases like Oracle/SQLServer; and Testing tools. - Advance understanding of modern software design and development methodologies. - Advance understanding of modern SCM (software configuration management). - Advance understanding of testing tools and unit test scripting, and testing methodologies. - An understand of performing ETL without the use of ETL tools. - Understanding of Oracle Database Administration. - Familiarity with the UNIX operating system. - Understanding of quality and security standards. - Good verbal and written communication skills. Roles and Responsibilities: - Participates as a member of development team; my lead a small development team. - Performs analysis of functional and business requirements. Completes code to implement solutions. - Contributes to design activities; may design solutions. - Applies in-depth or broad technical knowledge to maintain one or more technology areas (e.g. Database Administration, ETL Design). - Designs, prepares and executes Unit tests. - Applies HP and 3rd party technologies to software solutions of high complexity. - Independently implements end-user or enterprise infrastructure of moderate complexity or services prepared by more senior technologist for more complex solutions.
