I have applied for a post-OPT starting on June 1st, but will not have submitted my PhD thesis before then (I am a PhD student, my I-20 expires on May 30th, all other course work is complete).
The international student officer in my school says that in that case, they might have to cancel the OPT application which is currently in review. However, both USCIS OPT guidelines and websites on other schools says it is ok to apply for Post-OPT if only thesis is remaining.
Any suggestions on how I can proceed?
